When you hear the sounds of Tukkiman you realize he is an artist who speaks the universal language of music with power and compassion, to unite humanity and fight injustice.

Born and raised in Dakar, Senegal, Tukki’s worldly sound connects people of all cultures and musical tastes, with a musical identity rooted in hip hop, reggae, rock, and African rhythms.

Tukki means “voyage” in Wolof, Senegal’s native language. His life voyage is creating a common bond among all who hear his music and respond to his call for better peace, more love, deeper truth.

“I am Tukkiman,

I have emerged from struggle and pain

and have begun my journey promoting love and peace.

I am a singer, songwriter, and producer from Dakar, Senegal.

My goal is to remind us to be mindful of our inner beauty, our humanity, and to touch your soul.”

In those moments when music meets mission, that is when Tukki shines brightest.

Tukki 2020 Music Challenge

As part of his Party for Peace, Tukki is issuing a challenge to all hip hop artists to create at least one song encouraging their fans to go vote in 2020.

“As music artists, we have to take some responsibility for the violence and apathy, especially in Chicago, my new home. That’s why, from November 2019 to November 2020, I’m challenging artists to refrain from violent references in their music and make exciting, uplifting music for one year–and we’re challenging the radio and streaming outlets to play these songs.”

Tukki’s Resilient World

Tukki partners with the World Engagement Institute, a global NGO supporting countries needing assistance in transitional justice and post-conflict reconstruction, to combat human trafficking with a special focus on building community resilience and awareness.

Tukki’s tour of Community Concerts helps raise awareness and empower neighbors to fight the scourge of trafficking.
